telluride, co, is one of the more inconspicuous towns in america. tucked away from prying eyes, it has long since been abandoned by most of the locals and tourists who once thronged there after people claimed it was haunted. people have been hearing things; schoolchildren giggling, and laughing, in the ruins of the old school which was burnt down by a fire so powerful there was no stopping it, and everyone died. however, despite the amount of people who quickly believed this claim, it's just a myth made up by the founder of the faulkner institute after one of his students lost control and burnt the school down. he doesn't want anyone investigating his extraordinary school, you see.
this school doesn't specialize in maths, or the arts, or any subject you would find on a normal school curriculum. the faulkner institute is a school for people whose abilities extend beyond algebra. it's a school for superheroes, for people who have been finding funny things about themselves in the past few month, who can make things happen without any normal explanation, without a human explanation.
